It all starts with a problem. Even incredibly simple projects for everyday use.

Here the problem was simple: My AeroPress every morning was sitting on some dish unable to drain and dry.

Yuck! It sucks when you have to clean a soggy brick of coffee when you want to make another cup. The problem is that just sitting on a plate allows water to pool up.

Now yes one could just empty the AeroPress immediately, but that would interrupt my nice fresh coffee.

Here we have a simple yet functional print to suspend my AeroPress above a collection bin.

Ideally I would have mounted this to the wall with screws, but I’m afraid my apartment complex was screwing with me and put a waterline right next to my preferred coffee setup. So instead of tempting fate and flooding my apartment I used three command strips. As for tolerances, I am pleased with how the AeroPress itself fits into the groove. No effort required. The layers could have been better, but I had solid bed adhesion. I wasn’t worried about the lack of supports for the screw-holes on the top section, as any mounting would clean up any imperfections. Although as mentioned, the screws were replaced by Command Strips for actual mounting.

Printed using a Prusa i3 MK3S+ kit, with Prusament PLA.

Simple, yet effective. Holds up well to the weight of the AeroPress and I’m not worried about my landlord being upset by holes in the wall (or a potential leak).
